Advantage Care is a specialist support organisation based in Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire providing supported living for vulnerable adults with mental health needs, challenging behaviour, acquired brain injuries, learning disabilities, and other complex needs. We provide around the clock 24/7 support staff.

Our aim is to provide a high-quality supported living service to vulnerable adults who may have a mild to moderate learning disabilities and may or may not have been diagnosed with a mental illness and whose behaviour challenges more traditional learning disability settings. We also care for vulnerable adults who may have acquired injury to the brain including traumatic brain injuries and require support in a community setting.

Who we are

Advantage Care is an organization that has been established since 2022, with a management team that possesses over 34 years of collective experience in medical and care services. We specialize in offering a range of supported living services that are tailored to the specific needs of individuals facing challenges such as learning disabilities, mental health issues, acquired brain injuries, and other complex needs. Our 2 to 4-bedroom homes are strategically located close to local amenities, public transportation, education, and employment opportunities. We have properties situated throughout Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, and the West Midlands.

We are committed to providing a holistic experience for our clients, and this is evident in the 24/7 support staff who are always on hand to attend to any needs that may arise. We strive to ensure that our clients receive the best possible care and support, and we are dedicated to helping them achieve their full potential

Our Services Users

Supported Housing

Here at Advantage Care we provide a specialist supported living accommodation for men and women with a diagnosis of learning disability or autism and associated mental health and behavioural support needs, which may disrupt their ability to consistently function independently or as part of a community, participate in employment, maintain positive relationships or cope with the demands of every-day life.

Educational and Vocational Support

Support to engage in activities and meaningful occupation is a large part of the overall care package we provide. We support people with mental health conditions seeking opportunities for rehabilitation and reintegration back into the community, and those with a learning disability looking to continue their personal development and ongoing education.

Referrals and Assessments

The assessment process is designed to ensure we can offer a placement where the person we’ll be supporting can achieve the most positive outcomes.

Transfers

We aim to ensure everyone we support is in the right place, so if things need to change, we’ll explore whether another of our homes or services would be a better option.

Emergency Referrals

We’re able to offer emergency placements, often completing an assessment on the same day as an enquiry is received, while still ensuring the placement is entirely suitable.

Mental Health Law

There are cases when you can be detained (also known as sectioned) under the Mental Health Act (1983) and treated without your agreement. The Mental Health Act (1983) is the main piece of legislation that covers the assessment, treatment and rights of people with a mental health disorder.

Money and Benefits

If you’re living with a mental illness, there might be different welfare benefits you could claim to help you financially. There are changes happening to the welfare benefits system, so it is important to keep checking what you might be entitled to, as the rules and the types of benefits sometimes change.

We acknowledge that each person is an expert of their own life and is therefore best placed to make choices for themselves. We work closely with our service users to develop person cantered support plans and support them to make their own decisions as much as they can in accordance with current legislation.
